About Me
I'm Acharya Priya Friday-Pabros. I am a Black, New York born, wife, sister, daughter, minister, musician, spiritual teacher, counselor, and contemplative yogi. I currently live on the East Coast of the United States with my wife of 20 years, our German Shepherd Bella, and our crazy calico kitty Mz Katnizz Everpurr. A few things I'm passionate about are sacred music, film, yoga philosophy, interspiritual connection, and the creativity of human beings. My primary passion is sharing the spiritual science of Kriya Yoga.
I am an Acharya (respected teacher) in the Kriya Yoga Lineage of Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahashaya, Swami Sri Yukteswar, Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Roy Eugene Davis, and my guiding teacher, Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian. I am a Senior Kriya Yoga Teacher and Associate Minister affiliated with the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment (CSE), where I continue to study with my teacher.
I am the Founder and Spiritual Director of Meditate & Thrive Kriya Yoga Center,
My spiritual journey began in earnest at nineteen after reading Autobiography of a Yogi, which led me to seek a living teacher and ultimately to initiation into Kriya Yoga in 2002. I was ordained in 2005 and have been serving in this tradition ever since.
My intention is to offer my life in service to the spiritual awakening of individuals, families, communities, and our world - beginning with myself.
I offer instruction in Kriya Yoga meditation and lifestyle practices, sacred music, and individual Spiritual Direction.
I created 21st Century Contemplative as a space for those who live by or resonate with a contemplative way of life.
